Starting Thursday 17th September at 9.30am AND 6.30pm BST / U.K. time

basting stitch sessions

for repair artists and sewists who've got the skills but need help with everything else.

A basting stitch holds everything in place while you figure out the real thing. That's what these six weeks are for.

only 6 spots per cohort · live on google meet · replays included

sound familiar?

the skills were never the problem. You can sew, you can repair, you can make beautiful things. Whether that's five months of experience or twenty years, that bit's never been in question.

but nobody ever taught you the rest of it. Pricing, posting, talking about your own work without wanting to cringe. It just wasn't part of learning the craft. You've been figuring it out as you go, or not figuring it out at all.

something's a bit off, even if you can't quite name it. Maybe you've been doing this for a while and it still doesn't feel like it should. Maybe you're newer and it hasn't started yet. Either way, it's rarely the sewing that's missing.

you're waiting to feel ready before you actually start. Whatever "this" is for you — pricing it properly, posting about it properly, calling it an actual livelihood — you're circling it rather than doing it.

here's what this actually is

good offers, a presence people actually respond to, work coming in steadily — that's genuinely what you want, and it's genuinely possible.

The bit that's missing isn't your skill. You've got that. What you haven't been shown is how to talk about your work, how to price it so it actually makes sense, how to show up online without wanting to hide, and how to protect your own energy while you're doing all of it. Nobody teaches you that side of it. You just get left to muddle through on your own.

So that's what this is. The whole shape of it — how you talk about your work, what you charge for it, how you build a week around it you can actually sustain, and how you keep growing without it costing you the reason you started. Build the life first, then the work around it. Not the other way round.

If you're nodding along saying 'oh yeah I need this' then keep scrolling...

not a course you'll open twice and forget. not a one-off call that ends when the hour's up.

Courses sit there gathering dust. You buy them with the best intentions and three weeks later you've lost your login. A single coaching call gives you a good hour and then you're back on your own with nobody checking in.

This is neither. It's live sessions every week, proper homework in between, and a space where you check in with me and five other people going through exactly the same thing. Nobody's disappearing into a course platform. You're doing this with people who'll notice if you go quiet.

how a week actually works

the live session 45 minutes of me teaching, then proper chat time after - questions, working through what's coming up for you. Same time every week, your choice of 9.30am or 6.30pm BST, on Google Meet.

the homework Nothing that'll swallow your week. Just enough to make sure something's actually shifted before the next session lands.

between sessions A space to check in with the group and with me. Share what you're stuck on, what's working, ask a question, get a nudge. There's no rule book for any of this - that's exactly why you're not doing it alone.

Thursdays. topics that build on each other. One goal - helping you start building a livelihood from your sewing skills.

If you've got the sewing skills but you're not sure how to actually turn that into something that pays you properly and fits your life, this is for you.

Over 6 weeks we'll cover:
❋ Week 1 - Thursday 17th September: who you are and what you actually offer

Your truth, your voice, your positioning. Deep one, first week. Everything else builds off this.

❋ Week 2 - Thursday 24th September: getting work and talking about it properly

Where the work actually comes from, and why what you say about it matters more than you think.

❋ Week 3 - Thursday 1st October: your rhythms and protecting your energy

My favourite week, if I'm honest. Understanding how your own energy actually works, and building your week around that instead of ignoring it until it breaks.

❋ Week 4 - reclaim your worth

Your copy's included. No live session — this is your space to properly sit with your pricing.

❋ Week 5 - Thursday 15th October:growing without losing yourself

The one I care about most. How you keep building without it costing you the reason you started.

❋ Week 6 - Thursday 22nd October: hot seat mentoring

This is an extended session. Could be up to 3 hours. Bring whatever you're working through and we unpick it together - with everyone else in the room learning from it too.

Replays available for every live session.

everything that's included

  • six weeks of live teaching, twice weekly so you can pick the slot that actually works

  • your copy of reclaim your worth, built into week 4

  • an accountability space between every session — check in with me and the group whenever you need

  • replays of every live session, so one missed week doesn't set you back

  • just 6 people per cohort, so I know your name and your work properly

  • the hot seat session - up to three hours of direct, personal mentoring in week 6

here's what I can actually promise you

By the 22nd of October you'll know how to talk about your work properly. You'll have pricing that's grounded in something real, not a number you guessed at years ago and never looked at again. You'll understand your own energy well enough to build a week around it instead of getting flattened by it. And you'll have a much clearer sense of what you actually want this to become - not what everyone else says it should.

I can't promise it'll all feel easy. Some weeks won't. But you won't be muddling through it on your own.

I wish someone had offered me this

I know what it's like to have the skills, love what you do, and have absolutely no clue how to turn it into something that pays you and actually fits your life. I muddled through that for years, on my own, no faff-free version of it handed to me.

I've also built something too fast, watched it take over everything, and made the call to close it and start again smaller - because growth that isn't built on something steady costs you more than it gives back. That's not a warning to stop you growing. It's the reason week 5 exists.

So this is the thing I wish I'd had. Built from a kitchen table and a back bedroom, same as most of you.

this is for you if:

you've got a skill people already tell you you're good at, but no real system for turning it into money that adds up

you're tired of muddling through the business side alone and want proper structure, not another self-paced thing you'll abandon

you know your pricing's off and you don't know how to fix it without the guilt spiral

you want a small group of people in it with you, not a course you disappear into

it's probably not for you if:

you're not doing repair or sewing work yet - get that bit solid first, then come find me

you're already running something steady and sustainable and just want a top-up - 1:1 mentoring might suit you better

you want a switch that flips overnight. this is six weeks of proper work, not a shortcut

  • The Basting Stitch Sessions has been a pivot point for my creative work. Gay is incredible at seeing your potential and in a very gentle way pushes you and your project forward. The sessions has been a safe space where everything could be shared and where we all learned from each other.

  • I was at a crossroads feeling quite lost about what I really wanted and how to turn my passion into a sustainable income for my family. The way the sessions are set out it gives you a space for a lot reflection and light bulb moments. You can sense Gay’s genuine desire to help you find a fulfilling livelihood that supports your life. She doesn’t tell you what to do but rather gives you a gentle guidance to think for yourself, which felt like a therapy session at times

6 spots. that's it.

I'm keeping it small on purpose. I want to know everyone's name and everyone's work, and I want everyone to have proper space in the room. Once the spots go, that's it until January.

Got questions before you commit? Drop me a message. I'd rather you felt sure than signed up with doubts.

FAQs

what if I can't make a live session?

Every session's recorded, so a missed week won't leave you behind. But the group and the accountability only work if you're mostly there — I'd only book in if you can genuinely commit to showing up most weeks.

how much time does this actually take?

The live session, plus homework in between. Nothing that swallows your week but the more time you put into this during the 6 weeks the more you will takeaway. Most people manage it alongside a full workload.

I've never really posted about my work. is this too advanced for me?

No - this is built for exactly that starting point. We begin from wherever you're at.

what's the refund policy?

If you change your mind, you can cancel within 14 days of booking for a full refund, as long as the cohort hasn't started yet. Once we're underway if you are unhappy with the service, I can refund you for any weeks you haven't had yet, but not for the ones already delivered. If something on my end goes wrong and the programme genuinely isn't what was promised, get in touch and I’ll sort it out. I’m always here to listen and learn from these cohorts and want ot make it right for you.

can I do january instead?

Yep. Message me and I'll let you know the second january booking opens.
